You are right with your thoughts about listening to music. There's no doubt that listening to your favorite music can instantly put you in a good mood. Music is one of the few activities that involves using the whole brain and it has a lot of benefits to humans. It enhances creativity, and imagination and has been shown to help with language development, reasoning and stress reduction. You can never go wrong when you listenin to music.
