When my wife and I went on our honeymoon trip 18 years ago, we went to Italy. I brought my compact digital camera to take lots of pictures. But the problem was we couldn’t take a nice photo together. We had to ask someone to take a picture of us sometimes and it was a bit risky since Rome was notorious for pickpockets. One day, at a park, I asked a passerby to take a picture of us. He seemed to be a tourist like us. I handed him my camera, after explaining how to handle it. However, as I was going back to the spot where we wanted to take a shot, suddenly the guy ran off with my camera. I was so stupefied someone would actually do this that I couldn’t even scream out for help. After that terrible event, I never ask passersby to take a picture if at all possible. If I ask, I ask someone at a place where it’s difficult to run off. I learned my lesson.
